The Army Public School Dagshai was founded on 1st June 1986 under
the aegis of Headquarters Western Command of Indian Army in order
to provide quality education on public school lines to the talented
wards of defense personnel and civilians. The school admits boys
and girls as boarders and day-scholars from class V to class XII.
A co-educational residential English medium school, affiliated
to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi, APS,
Dagshai is a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC).
It is the only institution of its kind set up by the Army with
the specific aim to provide quality education to children of the
Armed Forces. Some seats have been reserved for civilians and
NRIs as well. The Army Public School, Dagshai is a living dream
of many visionaries who have right from its inception nurtured,
moulded, nourished and directed it with great care and painstaking
efforts. The hard work, the dedication and the unflinching loyalty
of the staff and students make it a lovable and a memorable place.
The school campus covers an area of approximately 40 acres. The
main academic and administrative buildings of the school form
a hollow square with offices on one side. The classrooms are designed
to accommodate 32 to 35 students. State of the art computer and
science laboratories are housed in spacious and well-designed
large rooms. A well-stocked library-cum-reading serves as a haunt
for those who crave for intellectual nourishment and information
of all kind. The expansive campus, a large playing field and the
beautiful school buildings provide an environment, which is aesthetically
pleasing and conducive to both work and play. The residential
wing houses boys and girls comfortably in separate buildings.
Girls' dormitories, along with common rooms, are located in a
healthy and serene environment with proper security arrangements.
The refectory with attached kitchen is equipped with modern cooking
facilities.
