INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS' CONFERENCE (IPSC) was founded on 16th
and 17th June,1939 under the chairmanship of Mr. J P Sargent,
Educational Commissioner with the Government of India. Initially
they decided to to form an Association of the Heads of Indian
Public Schools (then known as Head Masters' Conference India).
With the objective to advise the Government on educational problems
and educate the Indian Public to appreciate the need for a number
of first class schools in India whose general training is designed
to prepare boys of ability for positions of leadership and responsibility
in all walks of life; and to encourage the opening, development
and expansion of such schools.
At the third meeting in 1940 held at Raj Kumar College, Raipur,
that the name of the Headmasters' Conference (India) was changed
to its present name-the INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS' CONFERENCE (IPSC)
.
Currently there are total 79 member schools and The Army Public
School, Dagshai is one of the proud member of this organization
since 1992.
